Tool & Die Maker

Position Overview
Masterack is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to support our manufacturing operations by building, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, and precision components. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain tooling, progressive dies, fixtures, jigs, and gauges.
Diagnose tooling issues and perform corrective repairs to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD prints.
Plan machining operations by selecting proper tooling, machine settings, feeds, and speeds.
Operate manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and precision measuring equipment.
Machine parts to precise tolerances and surface finish requirements.
Perform preventive maintenance on tooling and production equipment.
Verify finished components meet dimensional specifications using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Maintain accurate production and maintenance documentation.
Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving activities.
Support production teams with tooling modifications and process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical certificate in Tool & Die, Machining, or Precision Manufacturing preferred.
3+ years of Tool & Die or precision machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with progressive dies strongly preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Experience operating manual machine shop equipment.
Knowledge of metal properties and machining processes.
Forklift certification or ability to become certified.

CNC machining experience
Welding and fabrication experience
Preventive maintenance experience
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
Physical Requirements
Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift.
Lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
Occasionally lift heavier materials with assistance.
Ability to work overtime as business needs require.
