The Woodward Action Sports Lead - Scooter is a supervisory role focused on ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and service quality of Woodward Tahoe Summer Camp. This includes providing excellent customer service, exceeding guest expectations, and fostering an atmosphere of fun, safety, and achievement. The role involves hiring and training staff to deliver up-to-date coaching progressions, managing equipment and facilities, and assisting in business development.

Leads ensure the safety of campers, guests, and staff, supervise coaches, address complaints, create schedules, and develop lesson plans and programs. They also maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the Bunker and outdoor zones, spot participants, run clinics, and oversee camp operations. Effective communication with parents, staff, and the community is key, along with upholding professionalism and company standards. The Lead works with the Program Manager to develop coaching models and training, motivates staff, and fosters a positive environment for lasting memories.

All camp employees are role models to our campers and should be prepared to represent the Woodward brand to the highest standard.

While every day is different and our roles may shift based on business needs, here is what tasks and responsibilities you can expect in this role as a Action Sports Lead - Scooter:

  • Ensure the safety of our campers, guests and employeesĀ 
  • Supervise sport coaches by planning, assigning, training and directing work as well as reviewing performance on a regular and consistent basisĀ 
  • Encourage, reward, and discipline conduct as appropriate for both staff and campersĀ 
  • Address employee and customer complaints and resolve problemsĀ 
  • Create weekly sport schedules, and manage labor according to budget and business volumeĀ 
  • Train new and existing coaches on all aspects of the jobĀ 
  • Write lesson plans and develop new programsĀ 
  • Fit, tech and train counselors in Park boardā„¢/Park skiā„¢ equipmentĀ 
  • Teach air-awareness, body control, balance, coordination, and other skillsĀ 
  • Spot participants on spring floors and trampolinesĀ 
  • Run clinics and classes for visiting coaches/ prosĀ 
  • Open and close all campus zones and facilities, in accordance to camp procedures.Ā
