Position Overview:

The Engineering Technician plays a critical hands-on role in supporting manufacturing operations by partnering with Production and Engineering teams to maintain stable, efficient, and well-documented processes. This role supports yield improvement, defect reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, root-cause analysis, documentation, and training support.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working on the production floor while collaborating across departments to solve problems and improve process performance.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily, order level support to production teams to ensure operational needs, quality standards, and delivery goals are met.
  • Act as a technical liaison between Engineering and Production to support troubleshooting, process clarification, and execution consistency.
  • Collect, analyze, and report defect and process data to support yield improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for process, equipment, or quality issues.
  • Support timely corrective action responses for assigned projects and production issues.
  • Support training of operators and technicians to ensure consistent process execution and adherence to standard work.
  • Assist Engineering with knowledge transfer during new equipment introductions or process changes.
  • Escalate unresolved process or equipment issues with clear data and recommendations.
  • Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through documentation updates, training, and production rollout support.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes and support sustainable corrective actions.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, recommending data‑driven improvements to process parameters and operating methods to improve yield and reduce waste.
  • Support engineering experiments and trials by monitoring processes, collecting and analyzing test data, and delivering clear test summary reports.

 

Other Important Responsibilities:

  • Engage and support companywide safety and cleanliness programs
  • As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices
  • Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned

 

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years or more of direct experience in industrial/manufacturing environment
  • High School or GED Diploma required, Technical School Certification/Degree Preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to self-check work for accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • High level of computer literacy using MS Office Suite
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and conceptual thinking.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma initiatives
  • Comfortable working on the production floor in a hands-on technical support roll
