Summary

The PMO Project Cost Control Manager works as part of the project PMO team and is responsible for preparation and maintenance of project financial forecasts inclusive of team labor, hardware, software, real estate, travel, and contingency reserves approved within the initiative’s budget.  This is a highly collaborative effort, requiring coordination with stakeholders from multiple internal workgroups.  The ideal candidate will have a solid background project management within large scale/complex initiatives, fluency with financial project administration and resource management, ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of stakeholders and leaders, and a passion for forming successful partnerships.

Your role in our mission

  • Review the sales solutioning documentation and extract relevant budgetary information to compile initial labor demand in collaboration with project leadership and workforce management.
  • Develop budget tracking workbook for each project utilizing standardized template.
  • Monitor project expenses to ensure adherence to the budget, extracting relevant details from multiple sources of data. 
  • Investigate and present variances between actual and forecasted expenditures.  Remain aligned with the project’s change management and resource management plans, referring decision items for governance where appropriate.
  • Facilitate financial meetings with project leadership and stakeholders.  Report project performance to targets.  Provide insight and recommendations gleaned from data analysis to project leaders.
  • Identify and analyze financial risks as they arise, and participate in development of mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of financial reporting artifacts throughout the project.  Serve as the subject matter expert for budget questions both from within the project team and from workgroups providing support to the project.
  • Align financial planning with project phases.  Ensure financial considerations are integrated into planning and decision-making processes.
  • Audit incoming labor expenses within the time keeping system and serve as time administrator for the project team.

What we're looking for

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of PMO, project coordination, project management, or project financial management experience. 
  • Experience managing financial data for large-scale project implementations or organizational departments.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and PMO governance processes.
  • Experience presenting complex topics to a variety of audiences and scaling detail as appropriate to convey intended meaning.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and CoPilot.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CAPM or PMP Certification
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
