What You’ll Do:
In this role, you’ll work under the direction of a licensed respiratory therapist and assist with a variety of tasks that support patient care and respiratory services. You will:

  • Respond to the needs of patients, families, and staff with service excellence.
  • Maintain and distribute oxygen cylinders and respiratory equipment across inpatient units, the emergency department, and clinics.
  • Assemble, clean, disinfect, calibrate, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
  • Transport equipment safely using proper infection control techniques.
  • Assist respiratory therapists with procedures such as bronchoscopy setup, non-emergent intubations/extubations, and sleep study documentation.
  • Perform smoking cessation counseling per department policy.
  • Track and catalog respiratory care equipment and assist with preventative maintenance.
  • Deliver home care supplies such as oxygen tanks/compressors.
  • Use Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and ordering platforms to complete tasks efficiently.

  • High school diploma and must currently be enrolled in respiratory therapist program.
  • Must be able to lift equipment and or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds and push/handle equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
