Job Summary:
Responsible for facilities maintenance and repairs as well as cleaning duties. Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works under the general direction of the Facilities Supervisor
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks
- Assists in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify needed repair
- Replaces light bulbs, lamps and tubes as needed, reports other electrical conditions requiring remedial action
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, remodel ad new construction in the areas including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration and HVAC
- Prepare surfaces and apply paint and other protective coatings including stains
- Follows all SMC Ltd. safety procedures
- Performs general manual labor task including loading, unloading, lifting and moving of materials
- Monitors the facility and grounds as assigned to ensure cleanliness and proper aesthetics of the property
- Ensure landscaped areas are kept free of weeds, trash and debris
- Maintains all equipment needed for general maintenance duties
- Maintains inventory on cleaning supplies and order supplies as need
- Completes Work Requests as assigned
- Clean and maintain facility, sanitize restrooms, clean sinks, countertops, tables, microwaves and refrigerators in break rooms
- Clean mirrors and glass doors in facility
- Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas
- Keeps janitorial equipment clean, safe and operable
- Set up and arrange tables and chairs for meetings and company functions
- Empty trash cans and recycling bins, replace liners and clean receptacles as necessary
- Keep outside break areas clean
- Maintains the outside grounds
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of one (1) years of experience in the facilities field or in a related area
- Minimum education of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical ability
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
ADA Requirements:
- Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally
- Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
