SUMMARYÂ
Under the direction of the Sous Chef, the Prep Cook assists workers engaged in preparing foods for banquets, catering, restaurants, or ready-to-serve packages by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits.
- Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood.
- Makes soups and sauces.
- Weights and measures designated ingredients.
- Carries dishware, pots, pans, etc., of food to and from workstations, stoves, and walk-ins.
- Stores food in designated areas and in appropriate order.
- Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils. Separates and removes garbage and steam cleans or hoses garbage containers.
- Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Helps dishwasher when needed.
- Helps line cooks when needed.
- Any other assigned duties.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESÂ
- This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
- Must understand and comply with departmental internal controls
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- All applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must be certifiable through the Cocopah Tribal Gaming Office.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEÂ
- 1 year of work experience in a related field

In the Entertainment industry, one may be subject to a work environment containing excessive noise, smoke, and stress.
