Position Brand Description:
This position provides technical support and expertise in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and processes, with a focus on environmental programs. In addition, the successful candidate would be a champion for Operational Excellence and partner closely with key stakeholders across labs, manufacturing, and facilities to meet compliance requirements and company objectives.Â
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Develop, implement, sustain, and own environmental programs across water, waste, and air media including permits, procedures and reporting requirements.
- Update and maintain all environmental programs and training to satisfy federal/state/local requirements.
- Develop and implement site sustainability strategy.
- Oversee waste management services vendor and coordinate waste pickup schedule.
- Serve as a technical expert on EHS practices at the site and regulatory interpretations and inspections.
- Lead cross-functional teams with the sustainment of EHS programs, including trending for improved site EHS performance.
- Support site operations as an area frontline EHS representative.
- Support the implementation of EHS technology systems and serve as a system administrator for EHS IT systems.
- Advise in facility/equipment design, project walkthroughs, and evaluation to control or eliminate EHS risks.
- Lead key elements of the EHS management system such as event deviation management processes, training, assessments/audits, business planning, and inspections.
- Monitor and operationalize internal and external best practices.
- Support development of functional priorities and annual EHS action plan(s).
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge of EPA and NJDEP regulatory requirements and application of EHS principles, ideally in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting or other regulated industry.Â
- Demonstrated abilities to work cross functionally, achieve results with others, and negotiate win-win solutions.
- Well organized and capable of developing, implementing, and enforcing environmental health and safety policies and procedures necessary to provide for a safe and healthy working environment. Â
- Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training.
- 3-10 years’ experience in an EHS role.
- Strong computer application skills.
- Strong organization and communication skill.
Additional Preferences:
- Experience working with external regulatory agency (EPA, NJDEP).
- Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environmentÂ
- Professional certification (EIT, ASP, CSP, CFPS, CIH, CHMM, etc.) preferred.Â
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related EHS discipline – concentration in EHS or related discipline (environmental science or environmental engineering)

This role is exempt and the anticipated compensation for this role is $87,000 - $147,000
This is a banded role, and candidates will be placed within the range based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
