POSITION OVERVIEW

The Level 5 Master Technician is the pinnacle of technical expertise at Servist Energy — and one of the most sought-after professionals in the renewable energy industry. You are the final escalation: the expert our organization, our clients, and our OEM partners call when no one else has resolved it. You don't just fix problems — you prevent them, systematize solutions, lead AI-based predictive diagnostics, and build the technical capability of the entire organization. Your influence spans from active commissioning and complex fault resolution to curriculum design, manufacturer collaboration, regulatory engagement, and strategic leadership. You are preparing for your next chapter: District Manager, Regional Manager, or Manufacturer-Trained Engineer.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Authority & Expert Fault Resolution

  • Diagnose and resolve the most advanced, cross-platform system failures across PV, BESS, EV, and SCADA technologies
  • Serve as the organization's final technical escalation for field issues with no established resolution path
  • Lead and oversee complex system commissioning, firmware optimization, and AI-based predictive diagnostics
  • Perform and lead high-voltage/medium-voltage diagnostics, SCADA integration, and grid-level troubleshooting
  • Collaborate directly with OEM technical teams and engineering to address novel, systemic, or critical failures

System Optimization & Performance Engineering

  • Analyze fleet-wide performance data and system trends to identify optimization opportunities
  • Drive industry advancements through best practices, data analysis, and field innovation
  • Develop standard operating procedures, technical playbooks, and diagnostic frameworks for field operations
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement sustainable, scalable corrective actions
  • Oversee predictive maintenance programs, power quality improvement, and SCADA automation across the portfolio

Training, Curriculum & Organizational Development

  • Design and deliver technical training programs for technicians at all levels (1–4)
  • Establish and enforce field technical standards ensuring consistency across crews and regions
  • Develop assessment tools, competency frameworks, and certification preparation materials
  • Mentor senior (Level 3 and Level 4) technicians on advanced diagnostics, systems thinking, and leadership
  • Contribute to the company's body of training materials, qualifying the next generation of field experts

Strategic, Cross-Functional & External Leadership

  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and sales on technical scoping, proposals, and project planning
  • Interface with OEM partners, technology providers, and regulatory bodies to enhance system performance and compliance
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and manufacturers on product performance issues and emerging technology adoption
  • May serve as Incident Emergency Response Coordinator and represent Servist Energy in regulatory contexts
  • Prepare for leadership transition roles including District Manager, Regional Manager, or Manufacturer-Trained Engineer


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of hands-on renewable energy or complex electrical systems experience
  • Expert-level diagnostic and troubleshooting capability across all system platforms (PV, BESS, EV, SCADA, HV/MV)
  • NABCEP PVIP (required)
  • ESIP — Energy Storage Installation Professional (required)
  • CEI — Commissioning and Electrical Integration or equivalent advanced commissioning credential (required)
  • SCADA & Grid Integration experience (required)
  • NFPA 70E (current)
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical standards, training programs, or organizational best practices
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Master Electrician License
  • Thermography Certification (Level II or III)
  • AI-based predictive maintenance platform experience
  • Relay protection and SEL relay advanced configuration experience
  • Conference presentations, published technical work, or industry committee participation


CAREER TRAJECTORY

  • This is the highest technical role in Servist Energy's field operations.
  • Career progression from Level 5 moves into: District Manager, Regional Manager, or Manufacturer-Trained Engineer
  • Level 5 technicians may also transition into Performance Engineering, Technical Program Management, or OEM advisory roles


COMPENSATION & CAREER PATH

  • Level 1: $20–$25/hr
  • Level 2: $25–$30/hr
  • Level 3: $30–$35/hr
  • Level 4: $35–$45/hr
  • Level 5: $45–$65/hr+ ā—€ Current Level
