Position Summary

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, processing areas, and facility spaces to ensure food safety, product quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient production while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, processing lines, and production rooms following established sanitation procedures.

  • Operate and monitor Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems.

  • Safely disassemble and reassemble production equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitation.

  • Use approved sanitation chemicals according to company procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Verify all equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and ready for the next production shift.

  • Perform sanitation verification activities, including pH testing, culture testing, ATP, allergen, and environmental monitoring, as required.

  • Complete sanitation records and required documentation accurately.

  • Monitor sanitation chemical inventory and replenish soaps and cleaning supplies as needed.

  • Clean offices, restrooms, hallways, break rooms, and exterior areas of the facility.

  • Dispose of waste and sanitation materials following company and environmental procedures.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), required PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and OSHA safety standards.

  • Report equipment damage or maintenance concerns to supervision.

  • Assist with production activities when needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous sanitation, industrial cleaning, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.

  • Food manufacturing or dairy industry experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.

  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to follow written Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

  • Positive attitude, flexibility, dependability, and willingness to learn.

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

This position requires working in a food manufacturing environment and includes:

  • Standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive movements throughout the shift.

  • Working safely in varying temperatures and around manufacturing equipment.

  • Lifting up to 30 pounds without assistance.

  • Pushing and pulling wheeled carts weighing up to 300–400 pounds.

  • Safely working with sanitation chemicals while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
