Are you a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner ready to make a real impact in behavioral health? Recovery Centers of America (RCA) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our South Amboy, NJ team. You’ll work closely with patients and the clinical team to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a supportive, recovery-focused environment. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Assess, examine, diagnose, and treat patients with mental illness. 
  • Conduct comprehensive family and individual assessments using psychiatric rating scales, genograms, and other standardized tools. 
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans. 
  • Prescribe and educate patients on medications, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). 
  • Work collaboratively with patients’ families and the interdisciplinary treatment team. 
  • Provide counseling and therapeutic support for conditions like depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and other psychiatric disorders. 
  • Monitor patients’ progress, perform intermittent medical assessments, and adjust care plans as needed. 
  • Ensure culturally competent, patient-centered care in accordance with best practices and ethical standards. 

Qualifications 

  • Master’s, postgraduate, or doctoral degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program (CCNE or ACEN accredited). 
  • Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC. 
  • Valid NP license in New Jersey. 
  • Active DEA license (CDS if required by state). 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an RN; 3 years’ experience as a psychiatric NP preferred. 
  • Up-to-date CPR or BLS certification (or willing to obtain during orientation). 
  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills. 
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria and behavioral health care best practices. 
  • Ability to safely prescribe medications and perform CLIA waived testing.
