What You'll Do:

 

As the Lending Officer is responsible for developing, managing, and growing a portfolio of commercial and mortgage lending relationships while maintaining strong credit quality and delivering exceptional customer service.

 

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

 

  • Develops and grows new commercial and mortgage lending relationships through business development, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
  • Achieves annual loan production goals by planning, prioritizing, and executing effective business development and sales strategies.
  • Maintains and expands existing customer relationships to retain business, grow the loan portfolio, and identify additional lending opportunities.
  • Structures and recommends loans that meet customer needs while maintaining strong credit quality and balancing the bank's risk requirements.
  • Conducts annual relationship reviews to evaluate account performance, understand changing customer needs, identify opportunities, and proactively manage portfolio relationships.

Position Requirements:

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of banking, commercial lending, mortgage lending, or related financial services experience. 2+ years of direct commercial or mortgage loan sales experience preferred, preferably with an established book of customers and relationships.
  • Certifications: No specific certification required.
  • Functional Skills: Strong business development, financial analysis, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. Ability to develop lending relationships, drive loan production, structure loans, and balance customer needs with sound credit and risk management.
  • Technology Skills: Average technology proficiency with the ability to effectively use CRM systems and other banking industry technology.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build customer relationships, present lending solutions, collaborate with internal teams, and communicate financial information effectively.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Demonstrates sound judgment, strong customer focus, accountability, initiative, and relationship-building skills. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others to achieve business goals.

Other Important Information:

 

Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.

 

  • And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: Senior VP

 

Core Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule can be flexible; will work approx. 8 hours within this timeframe)

 

Typical Work Week: M-F; (Some events outside of normal work hour); 40 - 45 hours a week on average

 

Direct Reports: None

 

Travel: Approximately 30-50% local travel during work hours and some after hour events.
