About the Role

At Tire Rack, technology keeps our business moving—and our IT Procurement team makes sure our systems, hardware, and software are in place to support our people. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented IT Procurement Specialist I to support our IT Procurement and Project Management teams by coordinating purchases, managing documentation, tracking budgets, and maintaining accurate reporting across multiple IT portfolios.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone interested in IT operations, project coordination, or procurement who enjoys working with data, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do

As an IT Procurement Specialist I, you’ll play a key role in keeping IT purchasing, tracking, and reporting running smoothly. You will:

IT Procurement & Vendor Support

  • Assist with all phases of the IT procurement process
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Support contract negotiations for pricing, terms, and service level agreements
  • Monitor maintenance and licensing contracts, including approvals and renewals
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs)
  • Request orders with suppliers and create purchase orders
  • Validate purchase orders against packing slips upon delivery
  • Track hardware and software purchases and maintain accurate license records
  • Organize and retain contracts and procurement documentation

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Maintain budget records and work with Accounting to ensure accuracy
  • Produce and update procurement, budget, and project-related reports and dashboards

Project & Portfolio Support

  • Support project managers by developing and updating:
    • Project documentation
    • Work breakdown structures
    • Gantt charts
    • Close-out documents
  • Assist with inventory lists and equipment lead-time tracking within project schedules
  • Run HourStack and MRC time reports for project managers
  • Maintain the Project Management Information System (PMIS), including Zapier automations

Administrative & Event Support

  • Assist the Director of the PMO with coordination of in-person events such as IT Town Halls and DT visits
  • Perform additional administrative and project support duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and eager to learn. Ideal candidates will have:

  • 1–3 months of related experience or training (internships, coursework, or entry-level work welcome)
  • General knowledge or understanding of IT systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accurate data entry
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma required

Work Schedule

  • Work Days: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be required)
  • Work Hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (additional hours may be necessary during peak projects or deadlines)
