Make a Difference This Christmas: Seasonal Social Services Assistant

Join The Salvation Army Kroc Center and help bring hope and joy to local families during the Christmas season. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Seasonal Social Services Assistant to support our Christmas Assistance programs, including Angel Tree and Adopt A Family.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, working with volunteers, and contributing to a meaningful community program.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required based on program needs.

What You Will Do

  • Assist clients with Christmas Assistance applications.
  • Review documentation and enter information accurately.
  • Help coordinate Angel Tree donations and volunteers.
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with clients, donors, and community partners.
  • Pick up, unload, organize, and sort donated items.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and program information.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Social services experience preferred.
  • Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet The Salvation Army’s driving requirements.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Ability to complete Safe From Harm and CPR training within the required timeframe.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, reach overhead, and lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
