What you will be doing

You will supervise drivers and equipment. Dispatch retail store deliveries. Ensure driver compliance with company policies along with state and federal DOT regulations. Assist with required records, reports and control systems. The position can work without a manager physically on site.

This position will be based in Auburn, WA.
 

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and direct activities during the operational shift
  • Respond to operational needs of driver employees
  • Organize sequence of driver dispatching with respect to Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Daily Route Plan, or other demands
  • Monitor delivery status of drivers while coordinating and communicating to downstream customers
  • Seek feedback from customers and coach employees for performance
  • Create and maintain the workforce weekly schedule
  • Interface with cross functional departments on various initiatives
  • Optimize the utilization/routing of equipment and staffing
  • Review route and delivery schedules and propose improvements
  • Shift workforce to respond to tactical demands
  • Audit and coach on date entry errors
  • Audit driver’s paperwork for accuracy
  • Maintain required dispatch records and reports
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Remain current on Federal and State laws on DOT
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Participate and prepare accident or injury investigation reports

     

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • 3 to 5 years in a leadership role or a combination of education and experience
  • In lieu of driver supervision experience, a Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated leadership roles while in college is ideal.
  • Travel requirements: Less than 15%

Pay Transparency:


Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).  [If applicable:] Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus. ​
