The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy and play a key role in advancing quality excellence within our Transformer business. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will drive process improvements that enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction across manufacturing operations.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen quality processes, support new product introductions, ensure compliance with industry standards, and lead initiatives that improve manufacturing performance. How You'll Make an Impact

  • Perform statistical analysis to validate and improve quality control processes.

  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, process flow charts, and MSA documentation.

  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, CSA N299.3, and applicable ASME, ASTM, IEC, and IEEE standards.

  • Support change control, document control, design reviews, and new product introductions.

  • Participate in supplier qualification and quality evaluations.

  • Develop and deliver training programs that strengthen quality awareness and process discipline.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in transformer manufacturing, including production processes, quality control, and shop floor operations.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency with SAP QM, Minitab, AutoCAD, SharePoint, and Power BI.

  • Strong knowledge of quality tools, including PFMEA, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
