Production Supervisor for BWay Corporation to work at our Dayton, NJ location. Responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of designated production team to include safety, quality, efficiencies, & meeting customer expectations. Provide overall direction to floor employees in areas of production, scheduling, performance mgmt, training & other rel areas to improve operational efficiencies.

  • Provide leadership & training to accomplish production objectives to all employees for Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, & Maintenance. Coordinate production activities w/ other depts to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in timely & cost-effective manner.
  •  Work w/ operations team to ensure vacancies are covered (planned & unplanned). Establish & monitor shift performance for safety, quality, & production standards.
  • Enter production data into system to measure & monitor KPIs around efficiencies, downtime, inventory, & overall production. 
  • Update communication boards to inform production members about safety, quality & efficiency metrics. Lead employee start-up meetings. 
  • Work w/ team members to control & improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime, & repair expenses; implement cost-effective systems around this as necessary. 
  • Promote shop floor org, plant housekeeping w/ employees using lean techniques such as 5S w/ shift personnel. 
  • Act as 1st point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues; direct maintenance employees to troubleshoot mechanical problems & perform preventative maintenance. 
  • Conduct tool store inventory reviews to ensure proper tools/parts available when needed. 
  • Prepare & review employees’ worked hours for submission to payroll. 

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have Bachelor’s in related Engineering, Operations Mgmt or other related field and 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment. 
  • Also requires skills (1 year exp) in: providing supervision in a manufacturing environment; Labor Relations; working in a Lean environment.

Core Competencies

  • Sunday thru Saturday. Shift is 8pm to 8am. Alternates each week between Four 12-hour shifts and Three 12-hour shifts. Job may involve exposure to outside weather conditions; loud noises; moving mechanical parts; risk of electric shock.
  •  Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
