Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Primarily based at our Swift Street location in South Burlington, Vermont, with travel to other NorthCountry Federal Credit Union branches as needed. A company vehicle is available for branch travel.

Pay: Starting at $24/hour, dependent on experience.

NorthCountry Federal Credit Union is looking for a hands-on, dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and taking pride in keeping buildings safe, welcoming, and well cared for. What You’ll Do

As part of our Facilities team, you will help maintain NorthCountry’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and work spaces. You’ll complete a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks, respond to facilities requests, support vendor coordination, and help create a positive first impression for everyone who visits or works in our locations.
  • Complete general maintenance and repair work across credit union facilities, including tasks such as painting, basic plumbing, light carpentry, equipment upkeep, and other hands-on building needs.
  • Respond to facilities-related requests from employees in a timely, professional, and service-focused manner.
  • Help inspect buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Support preventative maintenance efforts that keep our buildings, systems, tools, and equipment operating reliably.
  • Coordinate with recurring vendors, such as landscaping and snow removal providers, and assist with related scheduling, follow-up, and invoice review.
  • Maintain supplies, tools, and maintenance products so the team has what it needs to work efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Follow safety standards and complete required training to support a safe working environment for employees, members, vendors, and visitors.
  • Travel to other branch locations as needed, with most work time expected to be spent at the Swift Street location in South Burlington.

  • Good communication skills and a professional, respectful approach with employees, vendors, members, and visitors.
  • Comfort using basic technology to communicate, track work, or document completed tasks.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to other NorthCountry locations as needed.

Physical Requirements

This position requires hands-on facilities work, including the ability to regularly lift 25 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. The role also requires climbing stairs, using ladders, and performing physical tasks associated with building maintenance and repair.
