What you’ll do
- Connect with and engage audiences of all ages through storytelling at outreach events across the community.
- Lead dynamic educational presentations on the animals we care for, wildlife conservation, and the value of living a harmonious coexistence with the wildlife that surrounds us.
- Recruit, lead, and assist volunteers in caring for and training ambassador animals.
- Ensure all educational animals travel and are presented safely, professionally, and with compassion. Â
- Capture photos, videos, and social media content of educational events and presentations.
- Showcase Anderson Humane’s life-saving work to the public.
- Respond to public questions about found animals and wildlife conflicts.
- Provide support for domestic animal communications.
- Maintain accurate event financial records.

What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in education, animal training, or wildlife rehabilitation in a non-profit environment. Spanish fluency is a bonus!
- Working knowledge of domestic and wildlife animal behavior and illnesses.
- Open availability for a flexible, full-time schedule.
- A talent for compassionately handling animals with ease. Â
- Genuine enjoyment leading presentations, strengthening relationships, and interacting with the public. Â
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
What to expect
- Compensation range of $16 - $18 per hour commensurate with professional experience.
- Physically active, hands-on work indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
- Regular interaction with animals of varying species, temperaments, and behavioral and medical needs.
- Shared workspaces and a collaborative culture.
- To follow all safety protocols when commuting and working with animals. Â
