About the Job
Advanced Allergy & Asthma in Ogden, UT is hiring a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our clinical team. This full-time Medical Assistant job offers Monday through Friday daytime hours only, with no nights, no weekends, and no on-call. You'll work directly with our providers on allergy testing, immunotherapy injections, and asthma care, making this a great fit for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or experienced MA looking for specialty clinic experience.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

  • Room patients and complete intake: vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint documentation
  • Assist providers with allergy skin testing (scratch and intradermal), patch testing, and spirometry (pulmonary function testing)
  • Prepare and administer allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots) per physician protocols; monitor patients for reactions post-injection
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, including blood draws and nasal smears
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Prepare, stock, and maintain exam rooms; ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use
  • Educate patients and families on allergy and asthma management plans and medication instructions
  • Coordinate with front office staff on scheduling, prior authorizations, and patient follow-up
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic infection control standards
  • Support additional clinical and administrative tasks as needed

Medical Assistant Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant required; allergy, asthma, or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • CMA, RMA, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proficient in phlebotomy and injection administration
  • Experience with EHR systems and clinical documentation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced medical office
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
