Position Summary
The MDS Nurse (RN) is responsible for the coordination and completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate documentation, appropriate reimbursement, and high-quality resident care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete and coordinate MDS assessments
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all MDS submissionsÂ
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to gather required documentationÂ
- Monitor documentation to support coding and reimbursement accuracyÂ
- Participate in care plan development and updates as neededÂ
- Stay current with CMS guidelines and regulatory changesÂ
- Assist with audits and quality assurance initiatives
Schedule
- Part-time, 32 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling based on facility needs and candidate availabilityÂ
Requirements
- Active Maine RN license in good standingÂ
- Prior MDS experience requiredÂ
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and collaborativelyÂ
