Job Description Summary
Student Tutors independently support fellow students through individualized tutoring sessions across diverse academic subjects. This role operates with minimal direct supervision, requiring adherence to all college and SLC (Student Learning Center) protocols and procedures, as detailed in training. Upon successfully completing training and accruing one year of experience, tutors attain CRLA national certification. Beyond tutoring responsibilities, individuals in this role will undertake additional assigned duties.The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:

1st or 2nd-year students enrolled full-time at Ringling College of Art and Design

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tutor students in the following areas: writing, conversational English, software/tech basics, and time management outline
Complete documentation verifying tutoring sessions on the appropriate SLC documentation and share with students
Design social media posters, flyers, and/or animations as needed for social outreach
Attend mandatory tutor training
Attend mandatory monthly tutor meetings
Meet with the supervisor to discuss evaluations/feedback of tutoring services
Assist with the training of new student tutors in formal sessions and on-the-job training
Record data of all services in a timely and accurate manner
Publicize the services offered at the SLC through social media and/or class visits
Understand and follow the academic integrity and plagiarism policy of Ringling College as stated in the handbook and explained below
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be very knowledgeable in all academic areas of assigned tutoring
Must be able to share, explain and demonstrate knowledge in a manner that is easily understood by all students
Must be a strong writer with an advanced understanding of the principles of academic writing
Must demonstrate patience and kindness
Must be respectful of all students and adhere to Ringling's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
Must be dependable, able work as scheduled, and work with limited supervision
Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and written, with staff, faculty, and other students in a courteous and professional manner
Must complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner
Must possess and maintain the minimum qualifications described below

Maintain a B+ or higher average in all areas tutored
Maintain good standing academically and behaviorally
Be available to work 1- 2 three-hour shifts per week
Be enrolled full-time
