About the role 

As Portfolio Head for MedTech, this role shapes and executes the MedTech strategy, operating model, and go‑to‑market approach across medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, combination products, and emerging technologies. The role is customer‑facing, acting as a senior sponsor and strategic partner for priority MedTech clients, while working closely with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development, and Corporate Development to deliver differentiated, technology‑enabled solutions.

A key focus of the role is to incorporate AI and advanced analytics across the clinical trials value chain, enhancing study design, execution efficiency, data quality, and evidence generation for MedTech sponsors.

 

What you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related field; 
  • 12–15+ years’ experience in MedTech, healthcare strategy, CROs, consulting, or related life sciences environments. 
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio leadership and P&L accountability.
  • Deep understanding of medical device and digital health development pathways, including regulatory and evidence requirements. 
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, portfolio design, and commercial growth. 
  • Strong analytical capability, including business case development and financial modelling. 
  • Proven experience in customer‑facing executive roles and strategic client engagement.
  • Global experience and ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organisations.

 

What you will do:

 

MedTech Strategy & Business Build

  • Define and articulate a global MedTech portfolio strategy, with accountability for P&L, revenue, margin, investment prioritisation, and long‑term growth.

  • Assess and prioritise MedTech sub‑segments (e.g. medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, SaMD etc.).

  • Develop clear value propositions, service offerings, and delivery models for MedTech clients.

  • Translate strategic intent into executable roadmaps, including capability build, talent requirements, and system needs.

     

 

Portfolio & Offering Development

  • Lead the design, development, and refinement of MedTech service portfolios, including: 

    • Clinical development strategies for devices and digital health

    • Regulatory and market access pathways

    • Evidence generation and post‑market strategies

  • Partner with Operations and emerging Groups to integrate MedTech‑specific needs into existing CRO capabilities.

  • Integration of AI‑driven capabilities across the clinical trials value chain

  • Contribute to business cases, due diligence, and integration planning for MedTech‑related investments. 

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Development & Strategy Director on transactions and long‑range growth planning.

  • Ensure offerings are commercially viable, scalable, and differentiated.

 

Go‑to‑Market & Growth Enablement

  • Act as Portfolio Head and senior customer‑facing leader for MedTech, engaging directly with priority clients and strategic accounts.

  • Partner closely with Commercial and Marketing teams to: 

    • Shape MedTech go‑to‑market strategies

    • Support priority client pursuits and strategic deals

    • Develop client‑facing narratives and materials

  • Act as a senior subject‑matter expert in key client interactions and strategic pitches, as required.

 

Leadership & Team Build

  • Build and lead a high‑performing MedTech team, setting structure, capability priorities, and talent roadmap. 

  • Drive alignment across global functions to execute MedTech strategy and deliver measurable growth outcomes. 

  • Act as a senior thought leader, shaping internal capability and external credibility in MedTech.
