Role: Weld Technician

Overview

The Weld Technician performs specialized welding operations on aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings and qualified procedures.

This role supports the Lean manufacturing flow line by ensuring welding operations are completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.

This role supports:
• Creation of standard work
• Maintaining standard work
• Training and coaching of standard work
• Improvement of standard work

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG or electron beam welding operations.
• Inspect parts prior to welding and verify proper preparation.
• Conduct pre- and post-weld inspections.
• Maintain weld documentation and process records.
• Support continuous improvement and process development initiatives.
• Operate other equipment in the cell as necessary to keep product flowing at takt.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Welding certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience welding aerospace alloys preferred.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
• Ability to work with welding equipment and required PPE.

Work Environment
• Special process manufacturing area with welding equipment.
