Position Summary: 

The Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees the daily operation, maintenance, and safety of all bank facilities, ensuring buildings, systems, and equipment are fully functional, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including supervising staff, managing vendors, resolving facility issues, and prioritizing maintenance across multiple locations. The Manager also supports budgeting, capital planning, and facility improvements while maintaining a safe, efficient environment that enhances both employee and customer experience.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

  •  Oversee daily operations of all bank facilities and equipment maintenance issues, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. 
  • Primary point of contact for facility issues and requests. This includes the responsibility of tracking each issue from request to proper completion. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical facility issues quickly to minimize disruption to banking operations across facilities.
  • Perform and assist with maintenance and repairs for all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and general maintenance.
  • Respond to urgent service requests, alarms, and emergency situations. This requires being available for after-hours emergencies and understanding when to escalate problems.
  • Supervise facilities technicians, assign work orders, manage priorities, and ensure quality & timely completion of tasks.
  • Develop facilities staff by providing technical direction and regular feedback to improve skills and contributions. 
  • Perform frequent inspections and walk-throughs of facilities to identify maintenance items and generate list of recommended capital repairs for budget planning.
  • Coordinate and oversee relationships with external service providers, manage contracts, review invoices and monitor performance for quality and cost control.
  • Assist with developing annual facilities operation budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, track expenses, and support long-term facility planning.
  • Support building renovations, communicate with project management team, support IT initiatives, coordinate landlord & lease issues and other duties as assigned. 
  • Other similar duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in general facilities maintenance and operational management, including repairs and upkeep of equipment across multiple Bank locations.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, building automation, and general construction practices, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and oversee repairs efficiently.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technology, experience managing and growing CMMS work order system.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, safety guidelines, and compliance standards, particularly OSHA and local building codes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, cost analysis, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency across facilities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, drive for up to an hour at a time, and stand for up to 7 hours per day. Periodic bending, twisting repeatedly or consistently. The work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping, periodically, repeatedly and sometimes consistently for up to 7 hours per day.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Education/Training/Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of facilities management experience overseeing multiple facilities, including the development and implementation of strategy plans for facilities operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in Facilities Engineering or Facilities Management or equivalent experience with strong background in building maintenance and operations. May also consider Facilities Management program certificate.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, executing, and overseeing facility-related projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Proven experience in property management or facilities management, specifically in the daily operations of commercial properties with multiple locations.

INDEPENDENT ACTION 

Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with Manager where clarification or exception to Bank policy may be required.
