Seabury at Pomperaug Woods is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and service-minded Lead Diet Aide to join our Health Center Dining Team. This is more than a food service position—it's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents, mentor team members, and contribute to a dining experience that truly enhances quality of life.
What Makes This Role Special?
As a Lead Diet Aide, you'll be a trusted resource for residents and team members alike. You'll help residents make menu selections that meet their preferences and dietary needs, collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, participate in weekly Care Plan meetings, and help train new staff to provide exceptional service. These responsibilities build on the standard Diet Aide role, which includes meal service support, therapeutic diet preparation, dining room setup, food transport, stocking, and maintaining department standards.
What You'll Do
❤️ Make Meaningful Connections
- Assist residents with meal selections and menu choices
- Get to know residents and their dining preferences
- Help ensure dietary needs and preferences are communicated appropriately
- Enhance the overall dining experience through exceptional customer service
Lead and Inspire
- Serve as a lead resource for the Diet Aide team
- Train and mentor newly hired staff
- Support department standards, service excellence, and teamwork
- Help create a positive and welcoming work environment
Be Part of the Care Team
- Attend weekly interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings
- Share observations related to resident dining experiences, preferences, and concerns
- Collaborate with Nursing, Dietary, and other departments to support resident-centered care
️ Support Daily Dining Operations
- Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads
- Assist with meal service in the Health Center
- Set up and break down dining areas
- Stock supplies and maintain organized service areas
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met
