Cook – Dining Services

Penick Village Continuing Care Retirement Community is seeking an experienced and talented Cook to join our Dining Services team. If you enjoy preparing quality food, working as part of a team, and providing exceptional service, we would love to hear from you!

Primary Responsibility:

The Cook is responsible for food preparations that meet or exceed hospitality and service standards of this community. Prepare all foods to meet quantity, quality, and deadline requirements. As part of an interdependent team of skilled and caring people, the Cook must act in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Penick Village, to ensure that the highest quality of resident care and safety is maintained at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare food items using standardized recipes.

Determine food and supplies needed and coordinate meal production with serving hours.

Maintain all workstations and dining areas.

Prepare all special dietary needs as directed by the Resident menus.

Monitor all food items to see that at least the minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, presentation, and quality are upheld at all times.

Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.

Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules.

Assist with orientation and training of new kitchen employees.

Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures.

Attending all in-services as required.

Responsible for following all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.

Assist in the portioning and serving of food items before, during, and after the meal periods.

Assist with proper documentation of temperature logs and taste panel forms.

Perform any other reasonable task as assigned by supervisor.
