Reports To: Lead Food Service Associate
Position Summary
The Food Service Associate plans, organizes and helps manage the daily operations of the Dietary Department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality food services to patients. This position is responsible for managing inventory and purchasing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting food preparation and service activities as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ServSafe Certification required; ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
- Previous food service experience required; healthcare experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
- Understands and utilizes leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Essential Duties
- Order food and supplies while maintaining departmental budgets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, infection control, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee food preparation, meal service, and cafeteria operations.
- Monitor inventory and maintain proper food storage and stock rotation.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.Â
- Assist with meal preparation, tray line service, and other dietary functions as needed.
- Participate in meetings, training, and performance improvement initiatives.
7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shift)
