Position Summary

The Food Service Associate plans, organizes and helps manage the daily operations of the Dietary Department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality food services to patients. This position is responsible for managing inventory and purchasing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting food preparation and service activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ServSafe Certification required; ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.
  • Previous food service experience required; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
  • Understands and utilizes leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Essential Duties

  • Order food and supplies while maintaining departmental budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, infection control, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee food preparation, meal service, and cafeteria operations.
  • Monitor inventory and maintain proper food storage and stock rotation.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. 
  • Assist with meal preparation, tray line service, and other dietary functions as needed.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and performance improvement initiatives.

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shift)
