Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Supervisor to oversee human resources operations in our two Michigan office locations. This role will lead Michigan recruitment efforts, ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, and provide day-to-day oversight of the HR Generalist. 


Essential Job Functions: 

  • Supervise and support the HR Generalist in daily HR functions, including but not limited to employee relations, benefits administration, and onboarding/offboarding

  • Collaborate with department leaders and management to prioritize business needs

  • Recommend operational adjustments and process improvements based on findings from data analysis

  • Lead Michigan recruitment efforts by developing and executing recruiting strategies to attract, identify, and hire qualified talent while partnering with hiring managers to meet current and future staffing needs

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor the effectiveness of operational changes.

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies; coach managers and employees as needed

  • Partner with managers to understand staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and implement effective recruitment strategies

  • Create and update documentation for operational processes/procedures

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to improve the adoption of new systems and processes within the organization 

  • Support employee engagement, retention initiatives, and internal communications

  • Partner with HR Specialist to support multi-state insurance licensing process

  • Other duties as assigned


Experience/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • 3–5 years of HR experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead capacity preferred

  • Experience in recruiting for professional and/or legal roles is a plus

  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and negotiation communication skills, as well as a strong customer service orientation

  • Highly organized working style with an ability to manage time and strong attention to detail, with a commitment to meeting individual and team goals

  • Collaborative in nature

  • Effective planning, self-motivation, flexibility, and organizational skills

  • Technical proficiency with computers, standard business, and HR software (to include working knowledge of Google Suite products and ADP)


Physical Actions/Environment: 

  • Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance

  • Ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others

  • Standing, sitting, typing for extended periods, and lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs. 

  • Ability to frequently communicate with others in-person, on the phone/virtually, and in writing 

  • Ability to read, understand, process, and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions 


Starting Salary Range: $75,000-90,000 based on experience


Location: Detroit and Southfield, Michigan


Schedule: On-site Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:00 PM, 8:30-4:30 PM, or 9- 5:00 PM
