The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 3,000 employees across multiple locations. This role plays a key part in ensuring payroll data integrity, compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and a positive employee experience related to pay.  The Payroll Specialist partners closely with HR, Finance, and field leadership to resolve payroll issues, maintainaccurate records, and continuously improve payroll processes and systems. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a customer-focused mindset.

Payroll Processing & Data Management
- Support end-to-end processing of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for a multi-state workforce
- Collect, review, and validate employee data including timekeeping, earnings, deductions, and adjustments
- Audit payroll reports to ensure accuracy prior to final processing
- Monitor and process payroll changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in compliance with company policies

Employee Support & Issue Resolution
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
- Partner with store locations and internal teams to ensure accurate time and pay data
- Provide clear communication and guidance to employees and managers regarding payroll processes

Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and documentation requirements
- Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders
- Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation

Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience
- Assist in maintaining payroll procedures and documentation
- Utilize payroll systems (UKG) and reporting tools to support data accuracy and insights
- Support system updates, testing, and enhancements as needed

WhatWe'reLooking For
MinimumQualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years' experience in payroll administration.
- Experience with over 2000 employee count payroll.
- Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, payroll systems and database software. UKG

WorkEnvironment
The position is based in an office environment, requiring periods of sitting and the operation of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other office tools. Work hours are typically 8-5, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
