About Us:
At Straith Behavioral Health, we are committed to providing exceptional care for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Our Inpatient Autism Program offers a structured, therapeutic environment where patients receive individualized, multidisciplinary treatment. We are expanding our team and are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nursing Supervisor to join us.

Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Nursing Supervisor will provide direct psychiatric care to pediatric patients within our specialized inpatient autism program. In addition, the Psychiatric Nursing Supervisor will manage all nursing functions within the unit. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in child/adolescent psychiatry and a passion for working with neurodiverse populations. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of psychiatrists, psychologists, behavior analysts, therapists, and nurses to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

This role requires an individual who has a pioneering spirit who is committed to the establishment of the inpatient unit. This person will support in development of nursing staff, policies, procedures and tasks related to establishing and launching the inpatient program. This position will require the support of on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, care planning sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Support in the development of the unit policies and procedures as it pertains to nursing and medical staff.
  • Support in the launch of the program while leading the medical staff, not limited to nurses and nursing assistants.
  • Support in the training and development of medical staff in the unit.
  • Management of registered nurses and all other nursing staff

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse who has at least a bachelor's degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing, or its equivalent, from a school accredited by the National League for Nursing, or be qualified by education and/or experience in behavior health.
  • Familiarity with psychopharmacology for pediatric populations, especially those with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and collaborative skills.
  • Experience in an inpatient, residential, or acute care behavioral health setting is a plus.
  • Nurse management experience
