Position Summary

The Sterile Reprocessing Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment to meet safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare instrumentation for the decontamination process by disassembly and pre-processing. 
  • Operate all disinfection and sterilization equipment according to manufactures’ specialties
  • Adheres to infection control protocols, including maintenance of instruments processing logs
  • Assembles processed instruments
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintains familiarity with and abides by the Center’s policies and procedures
  • Supports and participates in the Centers quality improvement program.  

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications

  • At least one year of experience in Sterile Processing
  • Graduate of Accredited Program in Sterile Processing or Approved on the Job Training with CBSPD or IAHCSMM Certification required
