The Assistant Nurse Manager, RN (ANM) is a role developed to work in coordination with the Director in the Emergency Department to ensure the work is accomplished safely and effectively

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Current licensure in the State of North Carolina or Compact State as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • PALS certification required
  • BSN preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred Five (5) years’ experience in Emergency Department

NECESSARY SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the Emergency Department techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Department equipment and instruments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible and willing to learn.
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Computer skills including word and excel programs.

Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list):

  • Serves as leadership support for staff, physicians, and other related providers on ED-specific clinical issues. 
  • Collaborates with the Director on clinical and non-clinical operations related to the ED.
  • Serves as the leader support for the ED when the Director is unavailable.
  • Supervising, directing, coaching and mentoring staff with the direction of the Director 
  • Is responsible for scheduling of staff for the department 
  • At manager’s request assist in personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and other related activities
