Overview

Support the Transportation and Materials Department in receiving and ordering steel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain document control of department records
  • Verify and maintain receiving records for the department
  • Backup to the Logistics Clerk, Rail Clerk and Purchasing Assistant
  • Provide routine updates of departmental performance statistics
  • Check acknowledgements of hot band orders
  • Scan and file BOLs and other files with retention requirements
  • Maintain a daily shipping report
  • Perform other miscellaneous administrative and clerical duties

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong safety record
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field (or 2-year degree in business or related discipline)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Capable of prioritizing and multitasking
  • Must be self-motivated, able to make decisions, and work without direct supervision
  • Must maintain and ensure complete confidentiality of employee records
  • Must establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, administrators, other departments, and external entities/agencies

Preferred

  • Clerical, logistics, and inventory management experience
