This role is based in Spanish Fork, UT, and travelling to Kuna, ID; Mona,Ā UT; and Parachute, CO is expected (25% of the time)

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Lead solar PV site, BESS, and substation operations and maintenance efforts, including troubleshooting,Ā in accordance withĀ applicable safety and environmental obligations – Responsible for the Preventive and Corrective O&M activities assigned to the team.   

  • Stop unsafe work, report andĀ accurateĀ unsafe conditions or hazards – review andĀ submitĀ applicable accident / incident report.  Work with and supportĀ RegionalĀ Safety Committee.Ā 

  • Working with Regional O&M Manager, provide performance and developmental leadership and feedback to the members of the region’s teamĀ ( 6Ā technicians )LocatedĀ in Kuna ID, MonaĀ UtahĀ and Parachute Colorado.Ā 25% Travel Expected.Ā Ā 

  • Find opportunities for continuous improvement of O&M activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of field services.Ā 

  • Support or lead warranty claims processes with EPC providers and equipment vendors.Ā 

  • Ensure standard maintenance for vehicles and equipment andĀ assistĀ in addressing repair needs, coordinateĀ usage of shared equipment.Ā 

  • Schedule and implement site training and qualification efforts.Ā 

  • AssistĀ in third-party contractor and vendor identification and onboarding– develop work scopes and manage and schedule contractors as needed.Ā 

  • Establish andĀ maintainĀ an annual on-call schedule and communicate that schedule as needed to internal and external parties; respond to ā€œafter-hoursā€ emergency situations asĀ required.Ā 

  • EnsureĀ timely, complete, and high-quality documentation related to O&M activities, including service tickets, maintenance reports, switching orders, and safety-related documentation (such as JHAs/JSAs, Safe Work Permits, LOTO, Energized Electrical Work Permits, Excavation Permits, etc.).Ā 

  • AssistĀ in team adoption of computerized maintenance managementĀ systemĀ (CMMS).Ā 

  • Work with Engineering to review investigation results and/or recommendations from OEMs and institute plant solutions/modifications, document through change management system.Ā 

  • EnsureĀ accurateĀ tracking of inventory levels – initiateĀ re-order of consumables and spare parts as needed.Ā 

  • As needed,Ā participateĀ in the construction/commissioning of the facilities to ensure a high-quality build, successful commissioning,Ā timelyĀ project punch list closeout, and smooth transition of responsibility to the Operations team.Ā 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental requirements, regional and federal regulations, and company policies.Ā 

  • Stay abreast of applicable technical & safety standards and share withĀ team.Ā 

  • Facilitate effective communication for all activities using phone, email, and other business software such as our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Ā 

  • Perform/lead other duties and administrativeĀ tasks asĀ assigned by Region Manager.Ā 

Skills and QualificationsĀ 

  • Ability to develop a team and achieve goals. 3 years or more supervisory experience is a plus.Ā 

  • Knowledgeable in the systems, processes and protocols guiding the operations and maintenance of industrial PV solar plants and electrical systems (OSHA standards, NFPA 70e, Lockout/ Tagout/ Grounding, etc.). Operation of SEL relays, Pad Mounted Switch Gear, Re-Closers,Ā Ā 

  • Appropriate Electrical trade qualification with at leastĀ 5-yearsĀ working on utility scale electrical systems.Ā 

  • Experience working withĀ utility scale PV systemsĀ required, Battery Energy Storage systems a plus.  Experience with utility size PV Solar inverters,Ā Hitachi,SungrowĀ and SMA InvertersĀ 

  • PV Array TrackerĀ systems: ATI (V2, V2.5, V3), NEXTracker, &Ā SoltecĀ SF7.Ā 

  • Competence with relevant computer systems including but not limited to CMMS, DAS/SCADA, equipment-specific maintenance programs, and Microsoft Office programs.Ā 

  • Ability to work remotely and apply technology to stay connected to the local team, as well as colleagues at administrative offices.Ā 

  • High degree of commitment to a quality safety and incident-free work environment.Ā 

  • NFPA 70E and OSHA 30 CertificationĀ stronglyĀ preferred.Ā 

  • 7+ Years O&M Experience.Ā 

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment/facility schematics, maintenance instructions, procedures/manuals, process/procedure documents.Ā

Work EnvironmentĀ 

  • May beĀ requiredĀ to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.Ā 

  • Occasionally requires lifting asĀ appropriate toĀ perform duties and responsibilities.Ā 

  • Occasional non-standard work hours as necessary toĀ maintainĀ plant readiness.Ā 

  • Working outside in a normal solar power plant and/or office environment, including high/low ambient temperatures and high/low humidity areas, andĀ possibly workingĀ at heights.Ā 

  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.Ā 

  • As necessary, travel regionally in a company provided service vehicle and use regional air travel to support company’s solar and storage assetsĀ 

  • MustĀ maintainĀ a valid driver’s license.Ā
