Description

 Wheeler Machinery in Spanish Fork is seeking a full-time Shop Service Team Lead to assist the Shop Supervisor with repair scheduling, customer communications, and technician development. This role will guide and mentor technicians in safely performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on both Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, while supporting the supervisor with shop throughput, accountability, and oversight. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize and help others comply with company and customer site safety programs, processes and procedures.
  • Adhere to company and site lock-out-tag-out requirements.
  • Work closely with supervisors to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and limit customer downtime.
  • Assist with workload management, schedules and resource strategies.
  • Communicate with supervisors, technicians, and customers daily.
  • Ability to help demonstrate and teach electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems diagnostics.
  • Support accurate and effective parts and component identification and orders.
  • Influence quality repairs and learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrates less-familiar tasks and tooling to others.
  • Help establish and maintain flat-rate expectations.
  • Deliver accurate and timely service reports, core returns and warranty documents.
  • Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance following company policy.
  • Assists with annual reviews and performance accountability.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced equipment and diesel repair experience.
  • Experienced with safely diagnosing, maintaining, repairing Caterpillar mining equipment.
  • Experienced with Caterpillar service software programs e.g., Cat Electronic Technician, SIS Web, DBS and SIMSI
  • Ability and willingness to work closely with customers and a team.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Contains leadership attributes and qualities.
  • Innovative and willing to find solutions to problems.
  • Must have necessary hand, pneumatic and electrical diagnostic tools (up to ¾” drive).
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as needed.
  • Attention and focus on detail and quality.
  • Maintain and teach others to have a clean work area and contamination control expectations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
