JOB TITLE: POWDER COATER II                                                                                  


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Under the direction of the Paint Production Lead, independently perform powder coating applications while actively supporting all daily powder line operations, including masking, hanging, palletizing, and staging. Maintain equipment, documentation, and production flow in accordance with quality standards.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

Essential

  • Assist the Production Lead in daily powder line operations
  • Independently apply powder to semi-complex production parts
  • Understand and operate all coating equipment
  • Accurately record daily powder usage
  • Maintain clean and safe coating booth and work areas
  • Assist in masking, hanging, removal, palletizing, and staging of parts
  • Assist in packaging and transfer of finished goods
  • Assist with energizing wash line, powder booth, and ovens as required
  • Serve as secondary support for abrasive blasting operations
  • Monitor wash line chemical metrics when needed
  • Maintain ISO 9001 responsibilities per Quality Manual
  • Participate actively in Lean and Ownership Thinking activities
  • Follow all safety, quality, and work instructions

 

Non-Essential

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Manufacturing

 

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Essential

  • Minimum two (2) years paint line experience
  • Minimum one (1) year powder coating application experience
  • Knowledge of:

– Electrostatic charging 

– Application and recovery equipment

– Powder chemistries and cure schedules

– Metal materials and pretreatment processes

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of equipment care and maintenance
  • Ability to measure paint thickness, gloss, and adhesion
  • Ability to accept coaching and feedback
  • Willingness to work required hours
  • Use key quality measuring instruments to confirm paint thickness, gloss and adhesion

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Maximum (minutes): Sit 90, Stand 90, Walk 15, Bend 30, Squat 30, Lift 30, Twist 20, Kneel 5, Reach Above Shoulder 15, Climb 5, Drive 5, Push/Pull 15.

 

Must be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds occasionally. Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).

 

Working Environment: Production environment; Industrial ovens and miscellaneous heating equipment running continuously. High noise level exceeding 85 Db in some areas. Exposure to dusty powder, heat with no air conditioning, and cold. 

 

This position will require drug testing per company policy. 


Monday- Thursday 12:00PM to 10:30PM
