Position Summary

The Production Electrician I performs electrical installation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities that support manufacturing operations. Working under general supervision, this role installs and repairs electrical systems, assembles control panels and cable harnesses, and assists with PLCs, high voltage enclosures, and production equipment while developing technical proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and production machinery.
  • Install electrical wiring, conduit, motors, disconnects, transformers, lighting, and control devices in accordance with electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to support equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
  • Respond to equipment failures and assist with repairs to restore production operations.
  • Build and assemble electrical panels, control cabinets, High Voltage Enclosures (HVEs), and cable harnesses.
  • Route, terminate, label, and verify electrical wiring in accordance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Assist with PLC assembly and wiring activities.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using multimeters, clamp meters, and other testing equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting motors, relays, sensors, switches, and electrical control circuits.
  • Perform electrical work safely on systems up to 600 volts using proper PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable electrical standards.
  • Complete required documentation for repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to support production needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and process enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of electrical experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or commerical environment. 
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills. 
  • Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and testing. 
  • Experience using common electrical testing equipment. 
  • Working knowledge of electrical one-lines, electrical schematics, and electrical prints. 
  • Citizenship:  U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of Electrician apprenticeship program. 
  • Valid electrician license.
  • IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-Standard Certifications.

Physical Requirements

1. Must have the following physical abilities:

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
