Job Summary
We are seeking a X-Ray Technician to join our urgent care team. This role performs both radiographic imaging duties to support providers in diagnosing injuries and illnesses. The ideal candidate is certified as a Medical Assistant and licensed to perform X-ray procedures, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Certification as a medical assistant is not required.Â
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and explain procedures in a compassionate and professional manner
- Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Perform radiographic imaging following provider orders and urgent care protocols
- Practice ALARA radiation safety principles at all times
- Process and review images for proper identification, positioning, and quality control
- Prepare images for physician interpretation and radiologist over-reads as required
- Utilize digital and non-digital imaging equipment in compliance with approved radiology techniques, policies, and procedures
- Assist providers with prescribed patient treatments according to established standards, policies, and protocols
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot minor malfunctions, and coordinate repairs as needed
- Complete and maintain accurate forms, records, logs, and reports
- Assist with front desk or administrative duties when needed within scope of practice
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred but not requiredÂ
- Current X-ray licensure required per state regulations required
- Technical school or equivalent experience (6 months–1 year) in a clinical or urgent care setting
- ARRT registration or ARRT-eligible preferred
- Prior urgent care, emergency, or high-volume clinical experience preferred
- Strong patient service skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
