8hr-1st Shift 6a-2:30p Sparta (United States of America)The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and operational tasks to ensure the Plant's facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role involves working with building systems, addressing maintenance issues, and supporting the overall infrastructure needs of the facility.Key Responsibilities
1. Â Â Maintenance and Repair:
- Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and other building infrastructure.
- Diagnose and repair minor issues in building systems and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Assist in coordinating and overseeing work performed by external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
2. Â Â Facility Operations:
- Support the setup and reconfiguration of office furniture and equipment for events, meetings, and workspace changes.
- Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure optimal functioning and energy efficiency.
- Manage inventory and order necessary supplies and equipment for maintenance activities.
3. Â Â Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting routine safety checks and inspections.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
4. Â Â Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep detailed logs and records of repair work and inspections.
- Provide information to leadership regarding facility conditions and maintenance activities for management review.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.Â
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of general construction, building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pipe fitting, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to become forklift certified within 30 days of assuming role.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction and be able to differentiate colors.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in facilities management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Â The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. Â Employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors. Â Proper use of PPE is required in Production area at all times.
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform a standing job for 8 to 12 consecutive hours.
- Remain stationary extended periods of time.
- Move around the facility – inside and out.
- Move, adjust, and position anywhere from 10 to 45 pounds.
- Identify, recognize and assess documents, machinery and more.
- Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 8 to 12-hour period.
