8hr-3rd Shift (United States of America)The Industrial Equipment Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and automation of all industrial equipment within the Plant. This role involves managing a team of technicians, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and driving automation initiatives to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.This is a night shift position working Tuesday through Saturday.
Key Responsibilities:
•   Team Leadership:
o   Lead, mentor, and manage a team of industrial equipment technicians.
o   Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
•   Maintenance Management:
o   Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
o   Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of equipment to maintain optimal production levels.
o   Oversee maintenance records and ensure accurate documentation of all maintenance activities.
•   Automation Initiatives:
o   Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify automation opportunities.
o   Implement automation solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
o   Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and recommend upgrades as necessary.
•   Safety and Compliance:
o   Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
o   Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to promote a culture of safety.
•   Vendor and Inventory Management:
o   Manage relationships with equipment vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality support.
o   Oversee inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring availability when needed.
•   Reporting and Communication:
o   Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and automation projects to plant leadership.
o   Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate maintenance and automation efforts.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.Â
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•   Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing technical teams.
•   In-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, PLC programming, and robotics.
•   Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
•   Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial settings.
•   Proficiency in maintenance management software and data analysis tools.
•   Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
•   Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed.
•   Knowledge of the plastics industry, equipment and processes is a plus.
Education/Experience
                           Â
•   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
•   Proven experience (3+ years) in industrial equipment maintenance and/or automation within the plastic industry.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Â The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. Â Employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors. Â Proper use of PPE is required in Production area at all times.
Physical Demands
•   Ability to perform a standing job for 12 consecutive hours.
•   Remain stationary extended periods of time.
•   Move around the production floor.
•   Move, adjust, and position anywhere from 10 to 45 pounds.
•   Identify, recognize and assess documents, machinery and more.
•   Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during a consecutive 12-hour period.
•   Ability to move between buildings regardless of weather conditions.
