Position Overview
CP Engineers is seeking a Senior Manager, Information Technology to lead the firm’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and digital innovation initiatives. This newly created role will modernize our IT environment and build a scalable foundation to support continued growth.
This leader will oversee IT operations, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and data management, while driving the adoption of AI and automation tools to enhance business operations and decision-making. The role is both strategic and hands-on, serving as a key partner to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a firm-wide technology roadmap aligned with CP Engineers’ strategic goals. Serve as the internal leader and advisor on emerging technologies, risks, and opportunities.
- IT Operations & Infrastructure: Oversee day-to-day IT operations including cloud environments, networks, servers, backups, and user access, with a focus on Microsoft technologies (Windows, M365).
- End-User Support & Onboarding: Support new-hire onboarding and ongoing user needs, including workstation setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and coordination with external IT partners to resolve issues quickly.
- Systems Management: Manage and optimize core business systems including ERP/CRM platforms and integrations.
- Cybersecurity & Governance: Maintain IT policies, security protocols, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Vendor Management: Lead relationships with MSPs, consultants, and technology vendors to ensure reliable service delivery.
- AI & Innovation: Drive adoption of AI, automation, and data tools to improve workflows and decision-making.
- Project Delivery & Process Improvement: Lead technology initiatives, implement collaboration tools, and support continuous improvement using structured project and change management practices.
- Planning & Budgeting: Develop IT budgets, forecasts, and strategic priorities.
- Occasional travel to serve multiple office locations in Sparta, NJ, Parsippany, NJ and State College, PA and for training, conferences, or vendor engagement.
Compensation: $110,000-$150,000
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows, M365, Active Directory, Exchange)
- Experience managing cloud and on-prem infrastructure, networking, and security
- Experience working with MSPs and external IT vendors
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems and integrations (Deltek preferred)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices (e.g., SOX, NIST)
- Experience with AI, automation, or data tools (e.g., Power BI, Copilot)
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in engineering or professional services environments preferred
- Familiarity with engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Bluebeam) preferred
