Mixer Truck Driver

POSITION PURPOSE This Mixer Truck Driver operates the ready-mix concrete truck delivering to the Precast Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES ï‚§ Deliver concrete to production area according to direction from bed personnel ï‚§ Coordinate pouring of concrete with designated production area associates ï‚§ Check fluid levels, perform minor maintenance on truck or request maintenance when necessary ï‚§ Maintain preventative maintenance program on all batch plant equipment ï‚§ Operate mixer on truck, make judgements regarding the slumps of concrete ï‚§ Operate loader and help with plant maintenance when needed ï‚§ Meet production concrete delivery schedules ï‚§ Use computerized batching systems ï‚§ Properly load truck, drive truck safely in yard, discharge concrete from truck to forms ï‚§ Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner ï‚§ Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations

CHARACTERISTICS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) ï‚§ Highly dependable with strong work ethic ï‚§ Able to read a tape measure preferred ï‚§ Able to use standard construction tools preferred ï‚§ Able to operate heavy equipment ï‚§ Experience operating a concrete mixer truck preferred ï‚§ Able to read blueprints preferred ï‚§ Able to work on a team ï‚§ Able to understand and follow verbal instructions ï‚§ Basic math skills ï‚§ Able to read and write ï‚§ Attention to detail and accuracy ï‚§ Eager to learn ï‚§ Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes ï‚§ Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors

 EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY -High school diploma or equivalent preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE ï‚§ Sheltered, outdoor environment ï‚§ Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions ï‚§ Schedule varies with workload and location ï‚§ Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on business needs

PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE) ï‚§ Safety glasses ï‚§ Hearing protection ï‚§ High-visibility vest ï‚§ Hard hat ï‚§ Gloves (various types) ï‚§ Steel-toed shoes ï‚§ Respirator required for certain tasks ï‚§

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires standing for long periods of time, frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.
