As a Senior Electrical Building Engineer at JLL, you will serve as a critical technical leader responsible for the advanced electrical systems that power today's most demanding data center and critical facility environments. In this role,Ā you'llĀ take ownership of complex high-voltage electrical infrastructure,Ā leadĀ sophisticated troubleshooting initiatives, and provide technical mentorship to engineering teams.Ā Ā

This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to drive both immediate operational excellence and long-term strategic improvements across our electrical infrastructure portfolio.Ā
What your day-to-day will look like:Ā
Lead maintenance and operations of complex electrical infrastructure including medium voltage switchgear, primary electrical distribution, transformers up to 15kV, and paralleling switchgear systemsĀ
Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis on UPS systems, automatic transfer switches, static transfer switches, and power distribution units to ensureĀ maximumĀ uptimeĀ
Execute sophisticated electrical testing procedures including relay testing, power quality analysis, and comprehensive arc flash studiesĀ
Serve as the escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 electrical issues requiring advanced technicalĀ expertiseĀ and critical thinkingĀ
Lead emergency response procedures for critical electrical system failures, coordinating cross-functional teams to restore operations quicklyĀ
Analyze power system performance data and implement optimization strategies that enhance efficiency and reliabilityĀ
Ensure strict compliance with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards andĀ maintainĀ company arc flash protocols across all operationsĀ
Provide technical oversight and management of electrical contractor work, ensuring quality standards and safety requirements are metĀ
Conduct electrical safety training sessions for junior staff and contractors, fostering a culture of safety excellenceĀ
Required qualifications:Ā
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data center or critical facility electrical systems operationsĀ
Advanced technical knowledge of electrical power systems including medium voltage distribution, transformers, and protective relaying systemsĀ
DemonstratedĀ expertiseĀ with large-scale UPS systems (500kW+), emergency generators, and electrical switchgear operationsĀ
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for diagnosing and resolving complex electrical infrastructure issuesĀ
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating technical documentation and delivering training programsĀ
Physical ability to perform demanding work including walking, climbing, lifting 50+ pounds, and working on ladders up to 30 feetĀ
Availability for emergency response calls and ability to work in high-pressure situationsĀ
NFPA 70E certificationĀ requiredĀ withinĀ 90 daysĀ of employmentĀ
Preferred qualifications:Ā
Universal EPA 608 certificationĀ demonstratingĀ environmental complianceĀ expertiseĀ
Current electrical license or equivalent technical certification from recognized industry bodyĀ
Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringĀ or equivalent technical education and trainingĀ
Hands-on experience with advanced power monitoring systems and energy management platformsĀ
ProficiencyĀ with Corrigo CMMS or similar computerized maintenance management systemsĀ
PreviousĀ experience in technical leadership roles with responsibility for mentoring junior engineering staffĀ
