Objective of job:

  • Ensure all necessary maintenance work for the molding tools is carried out in a timely manner as needed by leadership and production. Repair and maintain all IM Tooling as needed in case of wear or breakage. Maintain all machinery and equipment in the tool shop area as directed. Identify if outside contractors are needed to complete major tool repair or major tool changes any time the scope of such repairs or changes is beyond the capabilities of the Duncan tool shop. Assist all techs on the team as needed. 

 

Principal Activities:

  • Safely operate overhead cranes, and PIT's when needed, in order to repair, deliver, install molds in the injection molding tool shop.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves tooling problems to the best of their capabilities.
  • Complete/perform tool PM assignments and documentation as scheduled.
  • Complete/perform tool repair assignments and documentation as much as capable.
  • Effectively communicate with team regarding all safety/quality/production concerns.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and organization of the Tool Room using the 6S principles .
  • Apply the knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic devices and principles to repair, install,  and / or replace damaged or defective mold components.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and use all tool shop equipment including lathe, mill, CNC machine, grinders, and all welders.
  • Identify any issues with tool shop equipment and inform the supervisor.
  • Provide engineers and leadership with any necessary information as requested.
  • Be cooperative with co-workers in order to maintain a good working environment.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of Manufacturing experience
  • 1 to 2 years of Machining, Welding and Troubleshooting experience is a plus
