Objective of the Position: Develop welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to address problems involving fabrication with metals. Develop weld schedule programming and continuous improvement at the plant level.Â
Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
- Approval or rejection of weld quality.
- Development and usage of robotic programming techniques.
- Development and usage of welding parameters.
- Educate EETAM personnel in visual weld inspection, weld quality, weld processes and techniques.
- Robotic weld schedule programming and continuous improvement.
- Robotic weld fixture improvements.
- Training of Repair Welder personnel.
- Tracking production-related welding assembly issues, including meetings and data gathering.
- Support new product launch.
- Support old product relocation to other EETAM plants.
- Design and fabricate fixtures and tools to aid in manufacturability.
- Provide technical support to EETAM development and manufacturing.Â
- Support Design and Manufacturing Engineer in completing customer documentation requirements pertaining to welding technologies and product feasibilityÂ
- Support Production and Quality Manager in maintaining current mass production.
- Develop relationships with welding equipment suppliers.
Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
- Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile:
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology.Â
- Minimum six years’ experience working for a manufacturing supplier preferably automotive as a Weld Engineer.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office & SAP.Â
- Expert in welding & metal forming techniques and processes.
Technical Expertise:
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.Â
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
- Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
- Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
- Strives to continuously improve expertise.
