Objective of the Position: Develop welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to address problems involving fabrication with metals. Develop weld schedule programming and continuous improvement at the plant level. 

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Approval or rejection of weld quality.
  • Development and usage of robotic programming techniques.
  • Development and usage of welding parameters.
  • Educate EETAM personnel in visual weld inspection, weld quality, weld processes and techniques.
  • Robotic weld schedule programming and continuous improvement.
  • Robotic weld fixture improvements.
  • Training of Repair Welder personnel.
  • Tracking production-related welding assembly issues, including meetings and data gathering.
  • Support new product launch.
  • Support old product relocation to other EETAM plants.
  • Design and fabricate fixtures and tools to aid in manufacturability.
  • Provide technical support to EETAM development and manufacturing. 
  • Support Design and Manufacturing Engineer in completing customer documentation requirements pertaining to welding technologies and product feasibility 
  • Support Production and Quality Manager in maintaining current mass production.
  • Develop relationships with welding equipment suppliers.

Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering Technology. 
  • Minimum six years’ experience working for a manufacturing supplier preferably automotive as a Weld Engineer.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office & SAP. 
  • Expert in welding & metal forming techniques and processes.

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise.
