Quakertown Veterinary Clinic (QVC) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Overnight Veterinary Assistants to join our small animal team!

As a 24/7 hospital, our overnight team is essential—supporting emergency cases, monitoring hospitalized patients, and ensuring every pet receives the care they need around the clock.

What You’ll Do

As an Overnight Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be a key part of our after-hours care team—supporting veterinarians and technicians while helping ensure patients remain stable, comfortable, and well cared for through the night.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams and treatments
  • Safely restraining and handling pets with care and confidence
  • Performing basic in-house lab work, nail trims, and sample collection (urine/fecal)
  • Administering subcutaneous fluids, SQ injections, and oral medications
  • Preparing and maintaining surgical suites and hospital equipment
  • Taking radiographs under the direction of a doctor or technician
  • Accurately filling prescriptions and managing refill requests
  • Communicating clearly with clients to provide support and education
  • Entering patient notes and charges into the hospital database system

Schedule & Availability

We offer full-time and part-time overnight positions.

Typical shifts include:

  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Overnight team members play a vital role in continuous patient care and emergency response.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with and restraining animals (preferred)
  • Strong customer service skills (required)
  • Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced or emergency setting
  • A self-starter who can work independently overnight while still collaborating with the team
  • Ability to Maintain a professional presence, including communication, appearance, and conduct
  • Physical ability to:
    • Lift up to 40 lbs regularly
    • Assist with lifting up to 150 lbs (with team support)
    • Handle and walk large dogs
