Job Description
Under minimal supervision, maintains and repairs plant equipment, buildings and grounds. Oversees the functioning of building systems including electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition (HVAC), structural, mechanical, fire / life safety, etc. Coordinates with contractors for complex facilities renovation, projects entailing mechanical, structural, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Condition (HVAC), electrical, production etc. Ability to read blueprints / schematics. Documents repairs and maintenance completed. Trains less experienced Facilities Engineers, technicians and line workers on complex repairs and maintenance requirements. Coaches and mentors less experienced Facilities Engineers. Shriners Spokane is looking for a full-time HVAC Mechanic to join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the buildings, grounds, and equipment in good safe condition, operating efficiently and economically to promote maximum longevity
Plan and implement building alterations
Work with contractors to achieve the best results for SC – Spokane
Maintain the level of supplies needed by the maintenance department to perform routine maintenance and repair of building and equipment
Participate in and conduct drills to improve the readiness of the hospital staff in the case of internal and external disaster situations. Perform safety inspections and act on safety inspection performed by others
Participate in positive and effective communications; demonstrate flexibility to change as required; promote inter/intra department teamwork; work efficiently and demonstrate integrity
Required Qualifications:
City of Spokane 3rd class boiler license (required within 12 months of employment and maintained annually)
State drivers license in which facility is located
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
1 year Hospital preventative maintenance
2 years HVAC experience
The pay range for this position is $26.14-$39.21/hourly
