YOUR PURPOSE
The Recovery Supervisor assists the Collection Manager to ensure that all aspects of the Collections Department function smoothly, efficiently, in accordance with established Credit Union Collection policies and procedures, and in compliance with appropriate state and/or Federal rules and regulations. The Collections Supervisor is responsible for leading, managing, developing, and training a team of collectors as well as for directing the team’s efforts to attain maximum performance while complying with Credit Union policies and procedures. Maintains accurate and current records on past-due accounts, prepares periodic reports on collections activities, and attorney/vendor relationships and is responsible for performing collection functions as necessary to assist in handling the department’s workload.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Ensuring adequate frequency of collection calls to delinquent loan members
- Review of the quality of collection calls
- Coaching and mentoring regarding the above
- Evaluates overall work of employees, conducts performance appraisals, participates in the hiring of new employees, and related personnel functions
- Monitoring of overall productivity and efficiency of collector’s activities while providing training and motivating staff
- Works directly with staff and members; responsible for researching inquiries and resolving operational problems that may arise daily.
- Assist and coach collectors in assembling loan modification proposals
- Maintain compliance with regulations, laws and policies affecting the collections department
- Provide timely and diligent collections of a reduced loan portfolio
- Make decisions regarding repossession requests
- Review department reports and modifies production and service delivery control to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the department
- Treats all credit union members and employees with a positive and cooperative attitude
- Actively displays diplomacy, tact and professionalism in actions and appearance
- Has the responsibility to have a cooperative and positive attitude toward members and credit union staff.
- Creates an environment oriented to trust, open communication and cohesive team effort.
- Supports new team members in working through induction programs, ensure that they have the necessary knowledge to effectively participate on the team.
- Contributes to staff appraisals and supervision process

COMPENSATION
Full-Time
Non-Exempt
Full Salary Range: $27.51-$38.51/hourly
*This figure shown represents the minimum and maximum of the range for this role. Individual offers are made dependent upon a candidate’s experience, education and skill level.

Requirements
EXPERTISE YOU NEED
Education & Experience
(A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; plus, at least two to three years’ related experience and/or training in a financial institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Related work experience may substitute for education—a minimum of five years of prior experience in a consumer collection capacity; two years of supervisory experience preferred.

- Resourceful and proactive and can maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounts receivable and collection regulations.
- Knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Experienced in aging reports, skip tracing, credit analysis, chargebacks and bankruptcy.

To perform the essential functions of this position an employee must be able to meet the following work place demands: ability to converse with others, detect sound, identify and detect objects, count, read, write, operate a computer, handle and feel objects, reach with hands/arms and be stationary and/or stand and/or move for long periods of time. Occasionally an employee will lift/pull/push and carry up to 25 to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and be able to maintain balance doing these activities. Position requires sound reasoning, good judgment and ability to apply knowledge toward work activities. The noise level is moderate and typical of a normal office environment.
