Job Summary:
If you’re a security professional who thrives on protecting what matters most, this role puts you at the center of it all. As the Security Manager – Facility Security Officer (FSO) at Centrus Energy, you’ll lead the charge in safeguarding classified information, controlled data, and critical company assets. Serving as the trusted authority on security compliance at headquarters, you’ll ensure programs align with national standards while partnering with leadership to maintain a secure, compliant, and mission-ready environment.
What You Will Do:
- Maintains responsibility for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations that provide for the execution of security plans/programs to the standards set forth by all applicable U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) rules and/or U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) orders, regulations, plans, and directives, including the NISPOM which establishes requirements for the protection of classified information to prevent unauthorized disclosure.
- Serves as the Site Insider Threat Program Lead for the site in accordance with the requirements of the NISPOM rule.
- Ensures site remains compliant with Security Executive Agent Directive (SEAD) 3, Reporting Requirements for Personnel with Access to Classified Information or Who Hold a Sensitive Position.
- Investigate security related issues in conjunction with Inquiry Officials, other FSOs, and Director of Corporate Security.
- Coordinates with the Outside Security Monitor (OSM) in support of independent review of Centrus/ ACO FOCI and security operations and posture.
- Provides technical and administrative guidance to all site personnel concerning Export controlled Information, Unclassified Control Nuclear Information, Classified, and Controlled Unclassified Information.
- Ensures policies, procedures, and practices are documented and available.
- Custodian for closed area, GSA Repositories and ComSec equipment.
- Performs routine walk-through inspections and documents for correction/resolution of all identified deficiencies during the walk-downs or self-assessment.
- Updates and administers initial and annual site-specific security training.
- Maintain the corporate FOCI filings through the eFOCI system
- Coordinate Executive Protection details as necessary.
- Develop and provide training to site personnel.
We’d Love to Hear From People With:
- Bachelor’s degree in a security-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five or more years of experience as an FSO, physical security manager, personnel security manager, or related security leadership role
- Completion of CDSE FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities program
- Strong working knowledge of 32 CFR 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
- Demonstrated ability to interface with senior leadership on security-related topics
- Ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” security clearance.
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- Experience with Department of Energy classification requirements
- Experience handling controlled unclassified information (CUI)
- Prior experience as a ComSec custodian with encryption technologies such as VipER or STE
- Experience administering access control programs for closed areas
- Knowledge of NRC requirements related to protection of classified data
- Active Q or Top Secret security clearance
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
